Arturo-O'Farrill

The Arturo O’Farrill Quartet Kicks Off the JAZZ at the Maverick Series

by Donna Calcavecchio

Now in its second century Maverick Concerts, true to its name, proves to be in the vanguard with its popular educational Young People’s Concerts series and more recent to the Maverick Concerts offerings, the JAZZ at the Maverick series.

On Saturday, July 2, concert goers will have two opportunities to hear the Arturo O’Farrill Quartet. Their Maverick debut will both grace the Young People’s Concert series at 11 am with a robust Afro Jazz beat and then kick off the JAZZ at the Maverick series at 8 pm with the Grammy Award winning pianist, composer, educator and the founder and artistic director of the nonprofit Afro Latin Jazz Alliance.
