The Frank Carillo and the Bandoleros | Someday
Jezebel Records

Roll's Quick Pick 3

When it comes to rock ‘n’ roll bona fides, Hudson Valley’s own Frank Carillo has plenty to spare. Peter Frampton, Golden Earring, and most recently, John Hammond have utilized his soulful six-string work, he’s had hit songs with Joan Jett and Carly Simon, and seen major mileage touring with almost every major rock group in the 70s including his own, Doc Holliday. Recorded at Millbrook Studios (by Paul “The Swami” Orofino), Carillo and Co. swagger and smolder, eschewing studio trickery in favor of a timeless guitar/bass/drums stomp, with Carillo’s cigarette-stained vocal front and center, alternately growling and pleading through this set of tight roots-rock originals.
