12/15 (RECEPTION), THROUGH 1/20—GERALD HOPKINS, PAINTINGS:
THE WOODSTOCK CONNECTION, SHELLEY K GALLERY, SAUGERTIES—As
half of the pop duo Twinn Connexion (with twin brother Jay),
Gerald Hopkins enjoyed a brief period of pop stardom in New
York City, recording their eponymous debut on Decca Records
in 1968. But Hopkin’s first love was always painting,
and through the 70’s and 80’s his brightly colored
post-Impressionist works could be seen all over NYC, including
the Yelitza International Gallery of Art, the Gallery of the
Irish Pavilion, and the Zoma Gallery. Presently residing in
Woodstock (with his own gallery at 74 Speare Rd., 845.679.6862),
Hopkins dedicates his WOODSTOCK CONNECTION show to twin brother
Jay Hopkins, who passed away suddenly in 2001. The Shelley
K Gallery, 69 Partition St., Saugerties, 845.853.5414. Gallery
