Art Highlights
THROUGH
1/12—HUDSON VALLEY HOLIDAY EXHIBIT AT DESIGN PRINCIPLES,
STONE RIDGE—Inspired by the beauty of the Hudson Valley
and Catskills, just as were Cole, Durand, and Church, this
collection of Ulster County artists continue the Hudson River
School tradition of inventiveness and innovation with a connection
to the natural. Pastels by Linda Stella (also jewelry) and
Christine DeBrosky explode with the region’s saturated
colors. The photographs of Gary Allen, Matt Calardo, Jim Smith
and Kevin Van Buren glow and sparkle with natural light. Ceramic
art by Brinton Baker and Gail Wynant draw upon their medium’s
inherent earthiness, and regional paintings by Thomas Stratton
contrast with the computer-generated work of Chris Ursitti.

FESTE” HOLIDAY GROUP SHOW AT RIVERWINDS GALLERY, BEACON—Like
many other winter gallery shows in the Hudson Valley, “Buone
Feste” features fine exhibitions as well as special
one-of-a-kind gifts in all price ranges. With fine art landscapes
and nature photographs by Robert Rodriguez Jr, Connie Fiedler,
Mary Ann Glass, Alison Shaw and Linda Hubbard, there are also
paintings by Lee Haber, Jamie Grossman, Linda Puiatti, Tilly
Strauss, Linda Richichi, Marilyn Fairman, Robert Ferrucci
and Virginia Donovan, plus mixed media by Christopher Staples
and painted porcelain by Paola Bari, and works by ceramists
Janice Sholz, Jennie Chien, Tinya Seeger, and Marilyn Price.
