“Animal Farm”/
“Strange Confi gurations”, Limner Gallery, Hudson- To
quote Slowinski: “Call it experiment, as it still is—human
beings have been on the planet for a very short time. Amphibians,
reptiles, insects, and many other mamals have a much longer history.
If humans are gone 10,000 years from now, our history will be insignifi
cant compared to the legacy of the dinosaurs—who in the form
of birds—are still here.” Th e bestial gets a full workout
in this installation, with the assistance of Donna Dodson, Tom McKee,
John Wotipka, and EJ Robinson (running through 8/31.) Afterwards,
its “Strange Confi gurations,” where the artists work
out their visceral psychedelia, dabbling in the surreal. Th is one
features the ubiquitous Slowinski, with Brett Anderson, Christian
Van Minnen, Melissa Markowitz, Brandon Gardner, Aric Calfee, Vladimir
Ovtcharov, Nathan Bond, Brian Somerville, Lisa Jacoby, Ivana Pavelka,
Jordan Casey, Monika Malewska, George Higham, and Billy Reynolds.
